Set above the Sixteen Mile Creek, Creekside Estate Winery has been carefully crafting premium VQA wines that reflect the uniqueness of the Niagara region since 1998.
The team marches to the mantra of "serious wines from an irreverent bunch" and you will immediately sense a devotion to the quality of the wines and a near equal devotion to not taking themselves too seriously.
What was once considered near lunacy has since become visionary, with the planting of Sauvignon Blanc and Syrah - two grapes that have proven to flourish and produce superior wines. The winery is one of the most awarded in Canada.
Whether you enjoy a tasting in the impressive underground barrel cellar or lunch on the deck over-looking the vineyard, you'll be treated to great wines and fun experiences at Creekside.
Tractors are the heart beat of any farm. They represent hard work, honest living and timelessness. The Red Tractor Collection is built to represent those principles and to honour the spectacular Niagara terroir with elegant wines that come naturally to this region. The wines are created to exacting standards in collaboration with our Niagara winery partner. Red Tractor wines focus on the varietals that grow best in Ontario - Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Meritage Blends to name a few. Their two brands - Red Tractor Collection and Sideroad Twenty live up to the high expectations created in the vineyard under the careful watch of the vintage 1950 Massey Harris Red Tractor. Watch for it at a wine event near you!
The winery came into existence in 2003, but grapes have grown in the Palatine vineyard for over 30 years. Winery principals John and Barbara Neufeld already had an intimate knowledge of grape growing and seeing the potential of their 187 acres, assembled a dynamic winemaking team.
The Neufeld’s saw immediate success as their 2003 Icewine received Wine of the Year honours at the Ontario Wine Awards. In 2006, Palatine Hills Estate was named Canadian Icewine Producer of the Year. Current winemaker Jeff Innes continues this award winning tradition, creating premium and estate wines at Palatine Hills Estate with quality as a standard, not a goal.
Cooper's Hawk Vineyard is on the same latitude as the prestigious wine regions of the world (Portugal, Spain, Italy, Germany and France) and sits on 67 acres near Harrow in the Lake Erie North Shore region.
While Cooper's Hawk Vineyards has developed its trademarked reputation with wine experts, nature enthusiasts also enjoy the unspoiled beauty and rustic simplicity of the property given their orientation to sustainable practises and green space.
The team believes in producing good quality wines in an environmentally supportive surrounding with a focus on sustainability. The setting is picturesque with its wide open vineyards that gently slope to the Iler Road.
Henry of Pelham Family Estate Winery was established in 1988 with the first vintage. At that time we were one of a very few estate wineries dedicated to producing premium quality wines made from 100% Ontario grown grapes. Our focus is on vinifera grape varieties. This family of grapes includes Chardonnay, Riesling and Cabernet Sauvignon, and has been cultivated in Europe for hundreds of years proving to produce wines of distinction.
In 1984 when our father, along with each of us (Matthew, Daniel and Paul), tore out the Concord and Niagara grapes at our own expense, people thought we were crazy. When we planted Riesling and Chardonnay under newly contoured hills and under drainage, many said they would never grow. We knew, after studying the heat scans and speaking with some of the other more progressive growers, that our vineyard was not only suitable for these special varieties but also located on the prime grape growing lands of the Short Hills Bench.
The winery devotes itself, principally, to producing exceptional Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc and Riesling, with respect for the unique characteristics of the vineyard site and the conditions of each vintage.
The partners share a vision of producing wines that rival the best wines from the most distinguished wine regions in the world. The vineyards feature some of the oldest plantings of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the Province and Lailey was the first winery to use Canadian Oak barrels for their wine.
Malivoire Wine is the magnum opus of Martin Malivoire. As a director of motion picture special effects, Martin’s career encompassed everything from television’s "Wayne and Shuster Comedy Hour" to such Hollywood big-screen attractions as "Resident Evil", "A Christmas Story" and "Hairspray".
Malivoire talks a lot about "elements". To build a successful winery you have to start with the best of the basics: location, soil, vines, practices and infrastructure. Then come the intangibles: philosophy, objectives, reason, creativity, dedication and energy. These come from people.
The results came rapidly with the purchase in 1995 of what is now known as the Moira Vineyard, followed by the acquisition of the larger property where the winery now stands.
The Grange of Prince Edward is a family run winery in Prince Edward County Ontario. They produce only 100% estate grown and made wines because they want their wines to reflect their region and distinct style. They grow 7 varietals and produce 3 distinct lines of wine to suit a diverse clientele.
Their farm consists of 60 acres of vineyards planted in chardonnay, pinot gris, riesling, sauvignon blanc, pinot noir, gamay and cabernet franc. The Grange sits on PEC prime ag land; the soils are known as Hiller Clay-Gravel with calcium-based limestone fragments.
With over three generations of winemaking experience, PondView Estate Winery is one of the newest addition to the Four Mile Creek appellation in the heart of Niagara's wine country.
The family-owned operations are headed by Luciano (Lou) and Adriana Puglisi, with a grape-growing tradition handed down from one generation to the next. The Puglisi Family Story begins in Sicily, Italy many years ago. The family first grew vines and produced their own wine, as many Italians did. When Giuseppe Puglisi emigrated to Canada in 1965, he brought with him his passion for grape-growing and winemaking. It is his son, Lou, who has been passed the torch and now carries on the family tradition. He has embraced this traditional art form and has cultivated some of the finest wines in the Niagara Region.
Luciano's enthusiasm and respect for the winemaking process, alongside his dedication and commitment to excellence, earned him the prestigious title of Grape King in 2008, awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture to the finest vineyard operator in Ontario.
The secret to the success of PondView Estate Winery is the long-held belief of the Puglisi family:
Great wine is a harmony of earth and vine.
Coyote's Run is a small winery located in Niagara-on-the-Lake. They are dedicated to producing wines of quality and distinctiveness that reflect the unique terroir and microclimate.
At Coyote's Run, they are very interested in the Niagara terroir, with a particular focus on soil. As luck would have it, the estate vineyard is situated on an intriguing piece of land, where Mother Nature has gifted them with two sharply defined and distinct types of clay soils.
Naturally, they have planted vines on each, and named these the Red Paw and Black Paw Vineyards.
13th Street Winery is committed to the creation of excellent wines which are an authentic expression of our local terroir and serve as the foundation for the exceptional wine country experience we offer.
Each vintage, 100% of the wines produced by 13th Street Winery are made from fruit sourced exclusively in the Niagara Peninsula with 85% or more coming from our own vineyards. Our very first vines were planted at the 13th Street Vineyard in 1976. In the years since, we’ve planted Gamay Noir, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Pinot Gris and now have amassed more than 40 acres of estate vineyards in the VQA Creek Shores appellation of Niagara.
Flat Rock Cellars is owned and operated by the Madronich family on the Jordan Bench of the Niagara Escarpment.
With a focus on cool climate grape varieties such as Riesling, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir, they make Burgundy-inspired wines that use low-intervention winemaking techniques. Flat Rock Cellars produces wines that are true to their roots—and the rocks which are the foundation of the vineyard's unique terroir as well as the inspiration for their name.
This Sideroad Twenty Cellars Import Collection offers a dynamic range of exceptional boutique wines from virtually every significant wine producing region of the world.
Each of the wines is extensively tasted to confirm that it delivers at prices much higher than we charge. All of these wines are scrutinized by our 9 internal experts and by Ontario's discerning sommeliers who regularly choose these wines for their restaurant or bar.
These wines are generally not available for purchase anywhere but here, the occasional appearance at LCBO Vintages or finer restaurants across Ontario. This list evolves regularly with exciting new options and new vintages of our customers favourites.
