Our 2008 vintage is a focused and elegant Pinot Noir with medium body. Red cherry in colour, the nose shows a red fruit core of fresh raspberry, candied sour cherry, beetroot and red licorice with a frame of vanilla and spicy oak aromas. The palate is well structured, reflecting the fruit on the nose with great intensity.
The 2008 vintage continues the tradition consisting of co-fermented Syrah/Viognier from our Queenston Road Vineyard on the St. David's Bench. Aged for 20 months in seasoned French oak demi-muids.
Fruit for this wine was sourced from 25 year old Butler’s Grant Vineyard on the Twenty Mile Bench. A rich, classic Niagara Icewine with aromatics of pear, peach and a hint of clover and butterscotch. The palate is rich and full but there is a bright actidity preventing the wine from cloying. The flavours range from tree fruit to tropical with notes of ripe apple, mango and pineapple.
